Top 5 Cabinet Design Trends for 2022

Written By: Victoria Hanulik NKDR Builders

If you’re anything like me, then you know how challenging it is to make a decision about your home when there are so many styles to choose from. Today I am going to walk you through 10 amazing Cabinet door trends for 2022. Whether you are updating your kitchen or bathroom, or looking to add customer built-ins, these styles will be sure to please.

1. Fluted Cabinet Doors

Fluted doors are reminiscent of Greek architecture, with a modern twist. This design uses numerous vertical pieces of wood running down a cabinet door. It provides visual interest to the door and has been seen everywhere from floating bathroom vanity cabinets, to dining room sideboards.

2. Warm Earthy Whites

Gone are the days of the stark white, no contract, medicinal look of the all white kitchen. In 2022 we are looking forward to using warm toned whites and even light creams to take the white kitchen to the next level.

3. Unique Cabinet Silhouettes

While the classic rectangular cabinet will never go away, its time we bring in some unique cabinet silhouetted like arched and rounded. We’ve seen the arch take over interior design with the painted arch, arched nooks and arched furniture. Now its time the arch makes its debut in the kitchen.

4. Furniture-esque Islands

It's no doubt that everyone loves a good island, but what if it could provide more than just function in your kitchen. In 2022 we are going to see kitchen islands perform at a whole new level as furniture + function. As many people are adapting traditional styles, it's no wonder we’re seeing more classic shapes, and islands propped off the ground on their own legs.

5. Reduced Upper Cabinets

We’ve seen this trend for a while now, but replacing bulky upper cabinets for light and airy open shelving will still be going strong this year. Think neutral wood toned cabinets paired with a textured glazed tile backsplash running all the way up the wall.
